A cold winters day.....the start of 2017

As you may be well aware, my favourite model for advertising my skills is my beautiful daughter. However, unfortunately, like many children she is not keen on having her photograph taken, even though you would never be able to tell from the most recent images taken on a cold winters day. How do I manage this...? Well, its about moving away from your typical posed shots and catching them in the moment, letting them play and capturing those smiles/expressions as they happen. As you can imagine it keeps me fit, having to anticipate their every move and being that little bit faster but this is what makes every shoot different and fun. As a former primary, secondary and higher education PE teacher it all comes easily, the activity side, working with children and tapping into their creative fun side.

However, all this said, there are always those posed family shots that everyone wants and I find, due to my experience, top of the range camera equipment and the fast pace that I work at, I manage to get the desired images before both adults and children alike get bored and disinterested; which never make for good pictures. This is also why I prefer location based shoots, choosing environments where all involved feel relaxed and are able to have fun. My daughter loves the park and beach which helps to create the beautiful images you see!

If you would be interested in having a family shoot or time with the focus on your child whether for 30 mins or up to 2 hours, we can build a package that suits your needs. Feel free to contact me at joanna@tolandphotography.co.uk or 07808155575.
